Local Ladies Football Heroes visit Kilmurry National School

….. and then the whole school got involved in the celebration of welcome for Aishling and Eilís.

After ending a 32 year wait to win a National League title, two of Kerry’s star and local players visited Kilmurry National School during the week.

The pupils at Kilmurry were very fortunate to be graced by two local football heroes on Monday morning.

Aishling O’Connell a 2022 All-Star and Eilís Lynch who is also a teacher in Kilmurry came visiting with the Peil na mBan Division One National League Cup.

The latest in the line of local footballing heroes were treated to a rapturous welcome to the school with the hard earned cup.

Everybody was delighted to see the National League Division one cup visit Kilmurry school so soon after Kerry captured it and the title. 

Local girls Eilís and Aishling played a pivotal role in the Kerry defence in Croke Park in defeating Galway.

Kerry had not reached the division 1 final since 2008 in which another Kilmurry NS teacher, Joanne Brosnan was involved.

Joanne was especially delighted to see her teaching colleague, Eilís Lynch play her part in ending the 32 year wait for Kerry to bring silverware home.

All pupils and staff wished Aishling and Eilís the best for the upcoming championship. Ciarraí abú!
