Routine Maintenance Work on Castleisland Bypass on Monday and Tuesday

Traffic through Castleisland town is likely to increase on Monday and Tuesday as maintenance work is conducted on the bypass even though traffic management measures will be put in place and some lanes will remain open during the work. ©Photograph: John Reidy

Colas JV (CJV) will return to the Castleisland Bypasses on the coming Monday, May 15th to carry out routine maintenance and grass cutting works on the stretch of the 13 year old bypass from Killarney Road to Dooneen on the Limerick Road.

Work will commence there on Monday from 8am to 6pm and continue on Tuesday at the same starting and finishing times as Monday – as per the programme below from Kerry County Council via Cllr. Charlie Farrelly.

Castleisland Bypass

Monday 15th May – Lane 1/Lane 2 Closure Southbound in place for 08:00 and removed around 18:00.

Traffic Management will be switched from a lane 1 closure to a lane 2 closure early afternoon.

Tuesday 16th May – Lane 1/Lane 2 Closure Northbound in place for 08:00 and removed around 18:00 – Traffic Management will be switched from a lane 1 closure to a lane 2 closure early afternoon.

The dual carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for the duration of the works.
