Connie Fitzgerald 5K Memorial Walk in Currans on Sunday Morning

A 5K Memorial Walk in memory of the late Connie Fitzgerald of Currans who passed away in January, 2020 is taking place on the coming Sunday, May 28th at 11 am starting at Currans Community Hall.

This is the second year of the walk around the Currans area and Connie’s family feel it is a perfect way of honouring his memory as he was very much part of the community.
Community Improvements
Last year a large group of family and friends turned out in Connie’s memory and the funds raised were given to the local community groups and went towards painting and upkeep of the community hall, provision of a Christmas lights display, window boxes for the village and also helped purchase tools for maintenance of the village.
Kerry Hospice to Benefit
“This year the family has chosen Kerry Hospice Foundation to benefit from the proceeds.

This will help provide nursing services including night nurses for patients at home on their end of life journey.
“Hopefully the weather will be fine on the day and they encourage everyone to join with them in remembering Connie at this event,” said a family spokesperson.
