Following a very successful basketball skills camp, Denny Porter and Micheál Cahill have handed over a huge €4,026.35 to the local fundraising branch of Kerry Hospice.

The duo ran a skills and development camp for boys and girls from U-10 to U-14.

At the end of the sessions there was a blitz held for all age groups, boys and girls U-10 and U-12 and a mixed U-14 competition.

The blitz was well supported and those attending were generous in donating on the day. Both men are delighted with the end result.

Event Exceeded Expectations

They had started out hoping to reach close to €1,500 but the final total of over €4,000 exceeded all expectations.

Speaking on behalf of the Castleisland Hospice Branch, Liz Galwey said that her group is thrilled to accept the cheque.

“It is an amazing amount to receive, we are so grateful to both Denny Porter and Micheál Cahill, they were so good to give up their time to run this event

“Thanks are also due to all those whose children attended the skills and development sessions and to everyone who attended and gave so generously on the day of the blitz,” said Liz.
