The reassuring presence of the Castleisland First Responders was very much in evidence at the River Island Hotel on Friday night as team members met for their Christmas night out and get-together.

Castleisland First Responders was launched in the same venue on November 15th 2019 in an era before Covid 19 and its world wide impact that changed so much with its event smothering lock-down period.

Operating under severe restrictions the group remained intact throughout the uncertainty and is now fully back in action and at the service of the community.

Responding to 999 and 112 Calls

“We are a voluntary group covering the Castleisland area within a 10 mile radius and under the direction of the National Ambulance Service,” said Andrew Kelly – one of the group’s founding members.

“We respond to 999 or 112 calls from people suffering chest pains, choking, cardiac arrest and strokes.

“On behalf of the group we would like to wish the members of the community in our area of coverage a safe and happy Christmas and New Year and thank them for their continued support,” said Andrew.
