The annual St. Mary’s Basketball Club Blitz is one of the things we look forward to the most at Christmas time in our house.

Over the past 12 months as well as playing with the U-18 girls, I’ve been helping out in the club by doing the board and coaching the younger children, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

When they announced Miss Basketball on day three of this year’s blitz, I couldn’t believe my luck when my name was called out.

‘An Amazing Honour’

Over the years, I have watched the Miss Basketball title being handed down, so this was an amazing honour for me to be part of this tradition.

From presenting awards to both young and old, it was such a fantastic opportunity to see how much ‘The Blitz’ means to everyone who takes part.

I want to say a huge thank you to all the committee members at St. Mary’s Basketball Club for making this experience so memorable and enjoyable and one I will never forget.
