The Sheltering Brosna Hills

I.

We gather here to celebrate the birthday of our King

With faith and hope and charity, these are the gifts we bring

Our hearts are full of the season’s light, faces glowing bright

We feel protected from all life’s ills, in the sheltering Brosna hills.

Chorus

We wish you a Christmas of peace, protected from life’s ills

May God keep you safe in his loving arms, in the sheltering Brosna hills.

2.

Our families are in our hearts though they may be far from here

Let’s wrap our love and send it off, a gift to bring them cheer

So let’s remember this blessed night, and keep its message near

For Jesus’s birth brings light and love, to guide us throughout the year.

Chorus

We wish you a Christmas of joy, protected from life’s ills

May God keep you safe in his loving arms, in the sheltering Brosna hills.

3.

As a grateful flock we gather here, neighbours and friends united

Giving thanks to the Lord for the grace He brings, keeping the dark road lighted

We honour the spirit of Christmas, wherever we may live

As true good Christians in every way, with a heart ready to forgive.

Chorus

We wish you a Christmas of love, protected from life’s ills

May God keep you safe in his loving arms, in the sheltering Brosna hills.
