A note from Mary Howarth to invite people of retirement age to a weekly afternoon of chat and conviviality in the Castleisland area.

“Are you retired? Then why not join the Castleisland Active Retirement Group?

“We meet for a chat and then have a few exercises – not too strenuous – followed by a cup of tea, brack, biscuits etc,” said Mary.

“We then play two houses of bingo and maybe a bit of a singsong. We join up with other groups from time to time for days out and also have an annual few days away.

Afternoon Dances

“We join with these groups for afternoon dances at the River Island Hotel where we meet for lunch followed by a couple of hours of dancing.

“If you would like to join us we hold our weekly meetings in St. Brigid’s Hall – behind Castleisland parish church every Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm

“New members, both men and women, will be made most welcome,” said Mary.
