On the morning of the evening of Sinn Féin candidate Deirdre Bell’s campaign launch in Knocknagoshel at 8pm, another local woman from the parish has thrown her hat in the ring for the Kerry County Council local elections in early June.

Michelle Keane describes herself as a Co. Kerry based entrepreneur and an award winning interior designer and CEO of Mibeau Interiors and CEO of Kingdom Water.

She continues to live in the local community within a mile of where she was born, with her two children a son and a daughter and has deep roots in the community.

Care with Taxpayers’ Money

Michelle believes in a society that is progressive and creative but also in a government that is careful with tax-payers money and focused on building sound economic policies that make work pay.

She would like to see extended support for the self- employed, the farming community and working parents with childcare costs.

More Surprises

She is a strong advocate for women’s rights and women in business and she came to local prominence over the past couple years as the leader of the opposition to the imposition of a telecommunications mast in the village of Knocknagoshel.

Local elections never cease to surprise and, even at this remove, this summer’s post election day count promises more of what makes these days so compelling.

Meanwhile, Sinn Féin’s Knocknagoshel based local election candidate, Deirdre Bell will launch her campaign at her local community centre on this Friday night at 8pm.
