I haven’t heard the term, Sale of Work in years and it was so much in vogue and slipped off event organisers’ tongues so easily once upon a time.

There’s a special event in the pipeline here in Castleisland to which the Sale of Work tag can be so aptly and readily applied.

Special in that the handmade goods originated in Zambia and will be on sale on the coming weekend after the 6.15pm Mass on Saturday, March 9th and after the 11.30am Mass on Sunday, March 10th in Castleisland Parish Church.

Presentation Mission in Zambia

The sale of work is in support of the Presentation Mission in Zambia to which Cork native, Presentation Order member, Sr. Mary Lucey was attached.

Now living in the Presentation Convent in Castleisland Sr. Mary lived in Zambia for over 30 years and she taught the women there to sew and supported them to make these beautiful handcrafted gifts which will be on sale here at the weekend.

The Sunday morning sale will be followed by a coffee morning at St .Bridget’s Hall, Presentation Convent, Castleisland after the 11.30am Mass.
