A Celebration of Spring in Music and Song for Castleisland Day Care Centre

Members of the Kerry Choral Union with the appropriately titled ‘All in the April Evening.’ The choir will perform with guests on Wednesday evening, April 3rd at 8pm at the Church of Saints Stephen and John in Castleisland. To hear the choir you can click on the image above. 

Kerry Choral Union will present a Celebration of Spring concert with guests: the German Plucked String Orchestra Differter Saitenspielkreis and Ailish Walsh and the choirs of Presentation Castleisland Secondary School and the Castleisland community.

The concert will be held in the Church of Saints Stephen and John on Wednesday, April 3rd at 8pm.

Tickets are priced at €10 each and all proceeds are in aid of Castleisland Day Care Centre.

Castleisland Day Care Centre stresses the importance of maintaining a Meals on Wheels service which commenced at the beginning of the pandemic.

Essential Service

The service has proved to be essential to many of the people who avail of it and it will be continuing into the future.
The centre continues to operate a laundry service from its base on Convent Street / Creamery Lane.

This laundry service is available to all day care centre clients and anyone in the community who is eligible and in need of the service.

Castleisland Day Care Centre provides elderly day care services from Monday to Friday inclusive.

If you know anyone who would need or benefit from Castleisland Day Care Centre’s Meals on Wheels or laundry service you’re advised to call the centre on 066 71 43865.

Kerry Choral Union

Local audiences will be familiar with the Presentation Castleisland and community choirs from pre-Christmas and other occasions on which they have teamed up or performed individually.  The following is a piece on the visitors to Castleisland for the great post Easter concert:

Kerry Choral Union is a mixed choir with over 60 members which was formed in 1981.

“We sing everything our musical director hands us – sacred or secular, ancient or contemporary, Handel or Abba,” according to the choir’s humorous notes on its activities.

“We take it seriously though and we have been dedicated to performing to the highest standard possible.
