Members of the Castleisland fundraising branch of the Kerry Hospice Foundation were delighted with the turnout at this year’s Good Friday Walk.

Blue skies and sunshine awaited participants who came out in their droves to take part in the annual event which is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Kerry Hospice.

Prior to commencement, branch chairperson, Liz Galwey sincerely thanked all the participants for their continued support.

She reminded everyone there that the next big project, will, all going well, be the addition of five extra beds in the palliative care unit at University Hospital Kerry.

Sunflower Day on June 9th.

The walk commenced and ended in the library car park with walkers taking in the route around Tullig and the Black Road.

At the end of the event close to €2,400 had been deposited in collection buckets with promises of further donations expected to be received over the days and the week after.

The next big event for the branch will be Sunflower Day on June 9th.
