There is widespread sadness at the breaking news of the death of Mossie Leane, (66) Scartaglen Village on Sunday.

Mossie’s death will be felt and mourned widely among the ‘doggy’ community in which he was so involved and respected throughout his life as well as by those who knew him.

A morning time visitor to Castleisland, Mossie would be seen regularly at Mollie’s Corner as he awaited a life home to Scart and he wouldn’t be waiting long.

Immediate and Doggy Family

They have been photographed together with their various charges in many a winning group shot over the years.

Mossie passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at his home in Scart.

Predeceased by his parents Mamie and Martin Leane Mossie’s passing is deeply regretted by his loving family: his sister Mary Cronin, Kiskeam, brother in law Donie, nephews: Daniel and Damien and his niece / Godchild Mary Ellen, grandniece Emma and grandnephew Donal Óg, relatives, kind neighbours, his dear friend Mossie O’Connor and the extended O’Connor family, and his wide circle of friends in greyhound racing. May he Rest in Peace.
