A local, public viewing of one of Castleisland’s events of the year, the Film Awards will be held in the River Island Hotel on Friday, June 6th at 9.30pm sharp.

Tickets are now available from the Presentation Castleisland school office on weekdays from 9am to 5pm. Tickets are €10. Cash only to the office.

This is an over 18’s event – and a little heads up that some of the seven films contain strong language.

Tickets are limited and on a first come basis to members of the public – ‘so get them before they’re gone,’ is the wise word on availability.

Seven Films Showcased

“Once again, we will showcase the seven films created by the Kevin Rowe Events organisation and crew and our 60 actors and actresses from the Castleisland area and beyond.

“It will be a great night and another opportunity to showcase the performing arts talent in Castleisland,” said Presentation Castleisland Principal Pierce Dargan.

A Cast and Extras Only Night on May 24th

Meanwhile, ‘a cast and extras only’ viewing of the seven films has been arranged for the coming Saturday night, May 24th at 8pm in Browne’s Bar.

“It will take place in the back room and we will meet at 7.30pm to start for 8pm. Finger food will be served on the night also.

Calendar Girls Calendar on Sale

And in other ‘Film Awards’ news: “We aim to print, launch and sell copies of the calendar girls calendar including the two men involved.

“Proceeds will be split between the school and a nominated charity. We’re looking forward to two great nights ahead,” said Mr. Dargan.
