The Mall Market: Milk, eggs and more, straight to your door! from the Knocknagoshel entrepreneurs.

As part of its participation in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, students of St. Mary’s National School, Knocknagoshel are proud and excited to launch their very own business venture The Mall Market.

This business fought off stiff competition from four other finalists and was selected by a panel of local ‘Dragons.’

The Mall Market was conceived in response to the closure of the local shop a few years ago.

A Gap in the Market

The children saw a gap in the market and a need in the local community. They formed The Mall Market with the aim of establishing a weekly subscription box of essential grocery items.

Pupils carried out a survey locally and based on feedback, they approached local businesses to source and price their products.

Each box includes: two one litre packs of Lee Strand milk; one block of Lee Strand cheese; one loaf of homemade soda bread; one Murphy’s apple tart; a half dozen free range Guiry’s eggs six Billy Kissane green rashers; a pound of Billy Kissane sausages. All this for just €20.

Orders Coming In

Collection will take place every Thursday from Knocknagoshel National School, alternatively the local Meals on Wheels group will deliver.

Ryan Collins, speaking on behalf of the team thanked everyone for their incredible support so far and he highlighted their generous suppliers as follows: Billy Kissane; Murphy’s Bakery; Guiry’s eggs; Lee Strand; Knocknagoshel Community Centre; Meals on Wheels Knocknagoshel and he thanked the entire local community for rallying behind our project.

Ryan’s team-mate Ben Brosnan added that the next few weeks while busy will be very exciting as they already have a number of orders coming in.
