Her selection came as her primary school, Scartaglen NS were successful in winning the Kerry County Mini 7s competition earlier this year.

Muireann captained the team under the guidance of their coach, Eileen O’Connor.

This talented group of girls also went on to win their Cumann na mBunscoil Final in June. Muireann is now a member of the Scartaglen Ladies Football Club and a former member of Scartaglen Coiste na nÓg

Congratulations Muireann and enjoy the great honour and experience.

Jack Rahilly Memorial Blitz Round Up

In Group 1: Scartaglen, Ballymac, Cordal. In Group 2: Gneevguilla , Currow, Desmonds.

Scartaglen lost to Ballymac in a great game 2-5 to 2-7. Scartaglen won their second game against Cordal 5:3 to 2:3.

This led them into the semi-finals against Desmonds.

It was another good game of football in which Scartaglen fought back to loose only by the slimmest of margins.

Scartaglen was in the shield final now and met Gneevguilla here. This proved to be an exciting game leading to a draw and to extra time. Once again the sides were level and it was all to play for now as The Golden Score was to prove who would win the Shield Final.

It wasn’t to be for Scartaglen unfortunately. Gneeveguilla went on to score first making them the Shield winners. This Scartaglen Team of boys and girls fought so hard and played some beautiful football all day. They should be very proud of themselves.

Well done boys and girls and mentors.

Congratulations to Desmonds who won the Cup Final and Cordal who won the Plate Final.
