The next meeting of the members of the Municipal District of Castleisland/Corca Dhuibhne will be held in the Area Services Centre, Castleisland on Tuesday, 17th September 2019 at 10am to consider the under mentioned items.

1. Deputation from the residents of Currans Village. Safety issues due to the opening of the nearby GAA Centre of Excellence. Requested by Cllr. Charlie Farrelly

1. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae

That this MD would hold information evenings in relation to grants available for vacant property owners and set out a timeline for this.

2. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: That this MD would look at developing a Digital hub in Castleisland which would attract remote workers to the area.

3. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: That Kerry County Council create a New Tourism Office and Officer for the Castleisland and Corea Dhuibhne Municipal District and as the MD is made up of two LEAs, Castleisland Local Electoral Area and the Corea Dhuibhne Local Electoral a request for

additional funding is submitted to the relevant Ministers and Departments.

(c) Questions

1. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask Kerry County Council would they assist with the community to purchase the old school in Fahamore Castlegregory in view of creating a heritage centre for the community as it is a tourism hub and would be a vital attraction.

(a) To note update report from Water, Environment, Fire and Library Services Directorate.

1. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: That this MD seek an update from IW in relation to the provision of sewage scheme for the villages of Scartaglin & Currow.

2. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: That Kerry County Council request Irish Water to upgrade the Water Reservoir at Stradbally, Castlegregory, Co Kerry as it is currently unable to meet the demand.

3. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: That additional staff would be provided to the West Kerry Recycling Centre in Lispole due to the increase in population during the Tourist Season and that a local advertising campaign be created to inform locals and tourists alike of the valuable service that the Kerry County Council is providing at the West Kerry Recycling Centre.

4. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will the Council employ extra man power and open the West Kerry Refuse Transfer Station on Mondays?

(c) Questions

1. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: Has Kerry County Council sent a request to Irish Water for funding to fully replace the water mains in Farranfore that has burst twice within a few weeks.

2. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: Has Irish Water repaired or replaced the pump, discovered or intend to solve the issue with Dingle Waste Water Treatment Plant at Emlagh, Dingle that has been causing issues for some time and if not when do they intend to complete it?

3. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: Did the West Kerry Recycling Centre make a profit or loss and if it made a profit where was that additional revenue spent?

1. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: That Kerry County Council immediately begins to create and develop plans for Social and Affordable Housing in the new Castleisland & Corcea Dhuibhne Municipal District.

1. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: Can this MD provide a list of all publicly owned land throughout the MD which could be developed for social housing?

1. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask Kerry County Council to provide personnel at Castlegregory beach Car park i.e.to clean and maintain the car park as there is an ongoing issue with waste and debris left behind.

Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask that recently received requests from Cloghane / Brandon Tidy Town committee to ask will there be a work programme put in place to address the outstanding issue and to ask what immediate works will take place from this request in 2019.

3. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask that Kerry County Council will seriously investigate the possibilities of opening up the Araglin Road as a tourist destination for walkers. With works to be done there includes cutting back hedges. Funding is needed to repair the surface of said roadway.

4. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask that Kerry County Council would assist Harbour Lake association in both improving the pier i.e. Landing facilities/aqua sport to facilitate local fishermen and to attract tourism.

Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask KCC and the Til to put in place, on a trial basis, a roundabout at Larkin’s Corner, Milltown where the R563 and the N70 meet.

6. Cllr. Bobby O’Connell: That KCC in cooperation with other relevant bodies (Road design office) investigate the provision of a pedestrian crossing at Upper Main Street, Castleisland to facilitate elderly and school going children.

7. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will the Council erect a” Residential Parking only” sign at the Grove estate in Dingle?

8. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will the Council re-erect the Bus Shelter at The Tracks in Dingle?

9. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Cathain a dheanfaidh an Chomhairle Contae na tithe ata fena gcuram i mBaile an Fheirtearaigh a pheinteail?

Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: When will the County Council paint the houses in its care at Baile an Fheirtearaigh?

10. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will Kerry County Council erect a sign at the entrance to Dingle Town alerting people about the new inner relief road?

11.Cllr. Bobby O’Connell: That Kerry County council immediately improve the safety at Ballyfinane Junction by acquiring the vacant shed being given to the Local Authority free of charge.

12. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly: That Kerry County Council will reinstate the entire footpath-area-outside dwelling·houses in Gneeveguilla Village adjacent to McCarthy’s Shop.

13. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly: That Kerry County Council provides one extra street light in Scartaglen Village at the junction of the graveyard and also provides two new street lights at Mount Scartaglen. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly believes the need for these lights are a Health and Safety issue.

14. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly: Calling on Kerry County Council to provide a new speed ramp on the entry to Greenfields Estate in Firies.

15. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly: Calling on Kerry County Council to consider installing flashing lights and additional signage on the entry to Firies Village from the Milltown direction. I am also asking the Council to improve the exit vision for residents on the same road opposite the busy creche.

16. Cllr. Charlie Farrelly: Calling on Kerry County Council as a matter of urgency to upgrade the road L257at the junction of Knocknaboul Cross where there is a huge lag in the road which is constantly

holding excess water.

17. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: That this MD would look at the feasibility of providing a walkway around what is commonly known as the Bog or Black Road in Castleisland.

18. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: That this MD would address the serious lack of signage for the town of Castleisland coming from Killarney on the N22.

19. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: That Kerry County Council provide adequate signage for walkers and car parking facilities to and at our major tourist destinations within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District such as Mount Brandon.

(c) Questions

1. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask both KCC & Til to address signage at the George Me Auliffe Roundabout on the new Milltown Killorglin road.

Motorists travelling on the incoming lanes are finding it confusing in terms of arrow direction signs etc. on the roadway.

2. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: To ask Kerry County Council to immediately erect signage indicating slow moving traffic to avoid a very serious accident occurring.

Cllr: Michael O’Shea: To ask Kerry County Council area office erect signage at the upper car park at Inch beach adjacent to the hotel, the signage indicating pathway to beach.

4. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will Kerry County Council erect a sign for the Emlagh Estate in Dingle?

5.Cllr. Séamus Fitzgerald: Will Kerry County Council place a yellow box in front of the two Stop signs where the street meets the new road at Upper Main Street, Dingle?

6. Cllr. Séamus Fitzgerald: Can the Council readjust the traffic lights at the Spa Road in Dingle? Motorists are complaining that they change too fast.

7. Cllr. Séamus Fitzgerald: What’s the latest update in relation to the meeting that the Council had with Failte Ireland in relation to the traffic issues on the Slea Head Drive?

8. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: Will this MD ensure that free water filling stations similar to the one in Sneem be supplied throughout the MD?

9. Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: Can this MD look carry out a feasioility study in relation to taking the awful hump out of what’s commonly known as Ryan’s Bridge in Kilcummin where the boundary between the Castleisland and Killarney LEA’s meet?

10.Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae: Will Kerry County Council look at providing a turning lane for Gortalea Mart on the main Castleisland-Tralee road in the interest of road safety?

11.Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: Why has Kerry County Council not maintained the Housing Estate at the entrance to Ballyferriter Village? Kerry County Council gave guarantees at the time that Cuirt Phiarias would be maintained and special paint was used at the time, unfortunately this paint wasn’t very special and now it is in very grave need of restoration.

12. Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: Can Kerry County Council put a sign indicating Local Traffic Only at the junction by Ballinavounig Road to Dingle as it appears that whatever map apps people use quite a number of them are directing people in the high road to Dingle and this road is not suitaole for that level of traffic?

13.Cllr. Brendan Fitzgerald: Can Kerry County Council inform everyone who submitted an application for the Local Improvement Scheme approximately when their road will be inspected?

1. Cllr. Michael O’Shea: That we the members of the Corea Dhuibhne Castleisland MD pass resolution asking the minister for Environment to immediately change planning regulations in terms of potential, vexatious objectors and to preclude persons with no ties to a given area from making objections.

2. Cllr. Séamus Cosai Fitzgerald: Will Kerry County Council write to Bus Eireann and request them to erect a sign near 0’Donnell’s shop, Annascaul village for the drop off and pick up of passengers?

1. To agree the following proposed dates for the holding of Castleisland Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District Meetings for 2019.

1. To consider the reception of a deputation from the residents in Maharees requested by Cllr. Michael O’Shea.
