This Sunday, October 19th is a big day for the club as the senior ladies take on the Clare champions, Kilmihill in the Munster Intermediate Ladies Football Final in Kilmallock in Limerick at 4pm. Desmonds will be hoping to add to the Kerry intermediate championship and the senior Co. championship titles.
Desmonds will be lead by county stars like: Lorraine Scanlon who will captain the side playing on the 40; Aisling Leonard at midfield; Cait Lynch and Aoife Lyons in the backs along with a host of other club stars many of whom have played with the county. The club sends its best wishes to the team and management. The team reports a clean bill of health for the Sunday’s big game.
Knocknagoshel native and Castleisland resident Mike Brosnan was on hand last weekend to present each of the Desmonds senior ladies team a set of BODIDRO football gloves for their upcoming Munster football final. Mr. Brosnan represented his nephew Ben Brosnan who has set up a new company marketing this brand of football glove. Ben is a member of the Wexford senior football team and his father hails from Knocknagoshel.
Club Officer’s Meeting
All officers on the executive committee members of Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club are requested to attend a meeting in the clubhouse on this Thursday night, October 16th at 8-30pm.
Desmonds lotto resumes on the coming Saturday night, October 18th in Fagin’s Bar when the Jackpot will be €2,000.
