Two items, one each on TV and radio have come to my attention and I thought I’d let you know. First up is that Michael Healy Rae, TD will feature on The Late Late Show tonight and the other is that Bernard Collins will talk on the Frank Lewis Show on Radio Kerry in the morning with fellow volunteers from various parts of the county.

Michael Healy Rae will feature somewhere in the midway point of tonight’s ‘Late Late’ and he is as yet unaware of the topic being covered by the segment of the show he’s due to appear on. It is likely, of course, that the recent passing of his colourful father will be covered during his stint on the show – but he’s not even sure of that until a briefing later on this evening.

The Frank Lewis Show will air on Radio Kerry in the morning (Saturday) from 9-15am to 11am and will feature the story of volunteerism throughout the county.

Those lined up for interview include: Bernard Collins, Ballymacelligott; Ger O’Donoghue, Rathmore; Yvonne Quille,

Killarney and Larry Long, Lyreacrompane.

“Volunteerism is a big story in Kerry and throughout Ireland today. It’s the one prop behind and under clubs and organisations and it’s one they wouldn’t survive without.

It’s good to see – or hear – it getting the airing its deserves and it has the makings of an interesting show,” said Bernard Collins.
