Castleisland Day Care Centre has launched its ninth annual fun cycle 2015. The event, which is scheduled for 10am on the Sunday morning of September 6th. , is aimed at all levels of cyclists and is suitable for both beginner and the more accomplished.
This year there are two routes: an easy 15km route and, for the cyclist who is looking for more of a challenge, an 80km route.
“Castleisland Day Care Centre is a great facility as it provides elderly day care along with mental health services and physiotherapy.”
“This event is for all levels of cyclists. The tougher 80km route may be of particular interest to someone who might be in preparations for the Ring of Kerry 2016 or for cyclists who may be winding down after this years Ring,” said event organiser, John Breen of Currow Cycle Club.
“The shorter 15km route is geared towards families and beginner cyclist. With the increased popularity in cycling this day provides a great incentive for people to get on their bikes and promote cycling as a way of getting more active and healthy,” said Mr. Breen.
Registration is €20 with special discount for families and takes place at Castleisland Day Care Centre between 9am and 9.45am.
Cycling helmets are compulsory for all cyclists and under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The cycle gets under way from the Castleisland Day Care Centre at 10am.
“We are delighted every year with the turn out in support of our fundraising cycle and we are hopeful that this year will be the same,” said centre nurse manager, Marcella Finn.
