The death of John O’Connor (91) of Portduff has been announced. Few people in the Castleisland area will have known John as he was a very quiet, gentle man.
Those of us who walk regularly on the Pound Road will have known him from the familiar frame on the tractor on his way down to town or on his way home.
From that lofty perch he had a wave for all he met on the road. May God be good to him.
The announcement and arrangements are as follows:
John (Jack) O’Connor, Portduff, Castleisland, Co. Kerry November 28th 2015. Pre-deceased by his brother Con, sisters Margaret (O’Mahony), Kathleen and Mary. Sadly missed by his relatives, neighbours and friends. R.I.P.
Reposing at Tangney’s Funeral Home, Castleisland on Monday evening from 5.30pm to 7pm followed by removal to Castleisland Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am.
Burial afterwards in Kilbanivane Cemetery, Castleisland. May He Rest In Peace Date Published: Sunday 29th November 2015. Date of Death: Saturday 28th November 2015.
