The Kerry Ladies Football Association posted a piece of breaking news of the bombshell variety last night concerning Cáit Lynch’s future with club and county.
“Kerry Senior Ladies has been dealt a blow with the news that inspirational captain Cait Lynch will not be involved with the team in 2016,” the news item opened.
“Cait has been offerered a job as a Marketing Assistant wth Bord Bia in Amsterdam and will leave to start her new career in January.
“She will be working on an 18 month contract and during that period she will play her football with Amsterdam Ladies Gaelic Football Club.
Cait Lynch won a prestigous All Star in 2012 and was also nominated in 2013 and 2015. She also won an O’Connor Cup medal with UCC in 2012, and has represented Munster on many occasions.
She is also the proud holder of two Munster Senior Championship medals with Kerry and in 2014 she won the All Ireland Intermediate Club title with her club Castleisland Desmonds and received the player-of-the-match award on that occasion and a massive hug from her proud nan, Cáit Browne.
“She will be a huge loss to both club and county. Everyone in Kerry Ladies Club Football wish her all the best in her new venture,” the news release concluded.
