The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP), which is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development, has provided €142,409 to support projects in Kerry in 2021.
Both Cllr. Charlie Farrelly and Cllr. Fionnán Fitzgerald welcomed the allocations and congratulated the recipient clubs and community groups.
As part of the process, grant applications were invited from community groups and local organisations across the county.
121 Projects Approved
A total of 121 projects have been approved for funding under this scheme.
The range of projects supported include: adaptations to community centres and amenities for COVID-19 related measures; purchase of equipment; age friendly projects and the provision of comfortable and safe meeting places for young and older people.
One-off Grants Awarded
This year, one-off grants have also been awarded to support costs associated with reopening a facility or the sustainability of a facility.
The funding is being administered by the Community and Tourism Unit in Kerry County Council in co-operation with the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC).
