Young Jerry Courtney Collects his First Split the Bucket Winning Cheque

Tim McCarthy of McCarthy’s Supermarket, Currow (right) presents Jerry Courtney with his Castleisland RFC Split the Bucket Draw winning cheque for €1,005 at Saturday’s draw in Mr. McCarthy’s shop.

Last week’s big Castleisland RFC Split the Bucket draw winner of €1,005 was actually two time winner Jerry Courtney’s son, also Jerry Courtney.

So, Mr. Courtney Snr. is not a three-time draw winner as reported here last week and I’ll take my share of the blame for making a bags of that bit of trivial information.

Young Jerry Courtney collected his winnings in Currow from Tim McCarthy at McCarthy’s Supermarket in the cradle of Kerry and Munster Rugby.

Tim also fulfilled the honours of the host and picked  out local Currow man Mossie Curtin for a draw prize of €705.

Next Saturday night’s draw will be held in Browne’s Bar on Saturday night at around 9pm and Castleisland RFC and its draw organisers wish all their friends and supporters the best of luck.
