There is little more to be said about tomorrow’s St. Patrick’s Parade other than emphasising the importance of taking part in what will be a great and uplifting occasion for the community and its neighbouring parishes.

Event organiser Cllr. Charlie Farrelly has issued a warning on the likelihood of heavy traffic through the town as Cordal GAA Club will host a fixture with the throw-in scheduled for 2pm just before the time of the parade start at 2:30pm.

There is always a need for more stewards to volunteer on days like this and Cllr. Farrelly has put out the call for people who would fit the bill.

Heeding the Traffic Stewards

All participants are advised to gather on the yard of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart at 1:30pm in preparation for the 2:30pm parade start. A one-way system, down by Creamery Lane and out by The Crageens will be in operation.

Obeying and heeding the directions of the stewards is a kind of a commandment here on parade days.

It Will be Cold – Wrap Up

Get out and enjoy yourself. If you’re a spectator, you’re special and you’re very much part of the event. Who else would be there to witness the participants making spectacles of themselves. The weather forecast is very favourable also.

Wrap up though as the really cold weather of the past week is likely to prevail over the next few weeks.
