Kerry’s lion-hearted star, Paul Galvin has just announced his retirement from inter-county football.
After Kerry’s defeat by Dublin in Croke Park this evening the news was confirmed by his brother-in-law and Kerry manger, Eamonn Fitzmaurice.
Galvin’s sometimes controversial ‘scrapes’ on the field often masked the tremendous courage, determination and drive he devoted to his county and the jersey he wore.
His high points with Kerry include the winning of four All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals. Needless to say you will hear much more on the matter over the next few days.
On behalf of Kerry people every we wish Paul Galvin well in his life after the wearing of the green and gold of Kerry. Though I presume he’ll play on in the same colour combination for his club Finuge.
