Now a serious spinal operation has side-lined him from even the side-line.
Thankfully it’s nothing he can’t recover from but it means that he’ll be out of action for the duration of this season. Friends of Martin’s told me that they’d like to wish him well in his recovery and that they want to see him ‘up and at it’ as soon as possible.
Martin, a former Castleisland Desmonds player and now a resident in Scartaglin, also works with the Kerry County Board as a Games Development Officer and he intends to get back to that as soon as he’s on the mend.
We all wish him well in his recovery and a return to full health in the weeks and months ahead.
