Castleisland District U-14 Team Honoured

Desmonds GAA Club spokesman, Pat Hartnett sent a note of sincere congratulations to the members of Castleisland District U-14 football team who won the Co. Championship during
the week. He also wished to have Richard Cotter and his management team included.
“It was a fantastic achievement and ensures that football is alive and healthy in the district,” said Mr. Hartnett.
Desmonds players on the team included: Luka Brosnan at No. 2; Danny Hickey at 12; Eamon Nolan No.15; David Shanahan at No. 6 and Ryan Maguire came on as a sub. Others on the panel were: Dylan Browne, Ben Cooney, Stephen Murphy, Adam O’Donoghue, Jamie Heffernan and Matthew Broderick.
The club also sends its best wishes to Labhaoise Walmsley who will line out with the Kerry Ladies U-14 team when they play the Ulster champions, Cavan in the All-Ireland ladies U-14 semi-final in Tipperary on Saturday .
The U-16 Co. League is due to begin on Wednesday, June 18th Desmonds are in a group that will consist of: An
Ghaeltacht, Aunascail/Lispole, Firies and Currow.

Desmonds Family Fun Day

Desmonds Coiste Na nOg has just announced details of its annual Family Fun Day. And the day chosen is: Sunday,June 22nd.
While a number of football games will take place for the young during the day, the focus will be mostly on fun and games for everyone. A tug-of-war is on the agenda for the adults so come along as there will be something there for everyone.
