Just taking a few lines to thank our readers and supporters at home and in all corners of the globe and wishing you all A Very Happy Christmas and A Peaceful and Healthy New Year.

For our home supporters we have the last two unclaimed tickets for the Sharon Shannon Concert in the intimate settings of O Riada’s Bar and Restaurant in Ballymacelligott on January 9th at 9pm.

The event sold out nearly as soon as the news broke here a couple of weeks ago. For once and with blinding foresight, I booked a couple of tickets for this very purpose and now they’re up for grabs for readers who simply ‘Like’ this post.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning the pair of tickets is to ‘Like’ this post and our draw will be made on Sunday and the winner will be announced here.

I also have a copy of the wonderful CD ‘A Murray Christmas’ from the RTÉ Radio 1 morning show presenter, John Murray. I chose this CD as a prize because of a long-standing, lovely and old fashioned style of correspondence which the late Phil O’Mahony and I conducted over the years. Phil was an inspired soldier in the AWARE army and could be seen on collecting duties on the streets here in Castleisland during the organisation’s flag days.

A Murray Christmas CD for one of our ‘Likers’

Phil’s modus operandi was to send an impressive, hand-written note for my weekly inclusions in The Kerryman – with a gentle request that the AWARE information would be included.

The week after the publication of the requested piece I always got a beautiful card with a thank you note which had ‘genuine’ written all over it. That’s a nice feeling and Phil had that way about her. May God be good to her.

So, it’s the Sharon Shannon Concert tickets and A Murray Christmas CD for the Likers of this post.

In the meantime: We would like to wish our advertisers, supporters and readers the best for the festive season and everything good for 2015.
