Preparing Professor Tim for the Stage in Scart

After their unprecedented 11-night run with ‘Wake in the West’ last year, the Sliabh Luachra Drama Group is back with its 2015 offering.
This year’s production is the 1925 penned play, Professor Tim by Co. Antrim born dramatist George Shiels (1881 – 1949)

“The story centres around Hugh O’Cahan and his dire financial situation. He has to sell the family home. James Kilroy, a romantic farmer, wants to buy it and match his boorish son to O’Cahan’s sweetheart, Peggy Scally. Peggy’s mother is all for her marrying into security with the Kilroy’s, but strong forces are ranged against the young lovers,” said Moira.
This production of Professor Tim promises to be a very enjoyable play with a great story and some very good humour so people should really enjoy it!.
