This Thursday, May 7th., is Alzheimer’s Tea Day and Liz Galwey will host her annual Tea Party at Galwey Auctioneers on Church Street.
“It’s a cause close to our hearts and we are delighted to be able to host a Tea Party and give something back to the Alzheimer’s society. There will be plenty of home baking guaranteed to accompany pots of tea – and coffee if desired,” said Liz.
An open invitation has been issued to anyone who is free to pop in on the day. Tea will be served from 9.30am through to 4.30pm.
Throughout Ireland on Thursday people will be hosting similar gatherings in their homes and places of work.

“The 2014 Alzheimer’s Tea Day raised €430,000, thanks to our wonderful Tea Day hosts and to all those who attended and supported events around the country. From this campaign, and with the support of our hosts, we have made a real and lasting difference to the lives of people in local communities living with dementia,” according to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
