Children from Lyreacrompane National School recently embarked on a research project with the title Water, take your Share, That’s Fair. The pupils of fourth, fifth and sixth classes researched water issues in nine developing countries.

They looked at the importance of water in each one and how water shortage is a major issue in each country.
“They then looked at possible solutions to these problems and results if the solutions were met. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed working on the project,” said principal, Eilish Lyons.

“The whole class will now travel to Dublin on the Tuesday, June 16 for the Our World Irish Aid Awards in which just 12 finalists were chosen from a thousand entries from all over Ireland. This is a huge achievement for the 11 pupils who worked on this project,” said Ms. Lyons.
