Bealtaine Festival Celebrated Age and Creativity at Castleisland Library

Castleisland Library hosted a Felt Making Workshop with the assistance of Martyn Bell. The event marked the Bealtaine Festival 2015 at the library and it was subtitled Celebrating Creativity As We Age. The Currow Active Retirement Group attended both workshops and really enjoyed the experience.

“Castleisland Library provides a great service to everyone in the community particularly the elderly, there is always a warm welcome and Castleisland Library always runs interesting events each year for the Bealtaine Festival which we are very happy to support,” –  Noreen Barry.

Barthy Flynn and Eileen Murphy from Castleisland Library explained that the focus of this year’s festival theme included all with the expansive working title: Looking at our County from the inside and outside, exploring traditions and working with the land.
With that in mind the library decided to host a felt making workshop and that would encapsulate the theme of the 2015 festival.
“Castleisland Library provides a great service to everyone in the community particularly the elderly, there is always a warm welcome and Castleisland Library always runs interesting events each year for the Bealtaine Festival which we are very happy to support,” said Noreen Barry of the participating Currow Active Retirement Group.
“Each year the Library strives to think of interesting and creative events to attract the elderly to the Library for the age celebrating Bealtaine events. These may be it in the form of Arts and Craft workshops or a film screening. The Library feels that its vitally important to host events for this category of the community, so that they stay connected with their community and, most importantly, with the library,” said Barthy and Eileen.
