Active Kingdom Summer Camps Begin on Monday

Active Kingdom Summer Camps are in full swing at present and heading this way for a Monday to Friday camp at Castleisland Desmonds GAA grounds starting on Monday, July 27th and running to and including Friday, July.31st.

The Camp starts at 9:30am and ends at 3pm. Morning sessions from 9:30am to  12noon. Supervised lunch break from 12noon to 12:30pm.  Afternoon sessions 12:30pm to 3pm.

Having already conducted camps in: Churchill, Abbeyfeale, Farrenfore, Killorglin and Tralee the staff members help kids to participate in a wide array of activities which change daily.

From Monday to Wednesday kids participate in half day sessions of: Orienteering, Athletics, Rounders, Gaelic Football, Olympic Handball and Ultimate Frisbee.

On Thursday they completed a number of team building challenges and an obstacle course and finally on the Friday the they participate in a competition day of all of the previous sports.

The aim of the summer camp is to give children a positive exposure to sport and physical activity through offering a variety of activities.

Active Kingdom staff bring with them a mass of expertise in sport coaching and physical education teaching and they use this experience to plan and deliver effective learning experiences for children attending the camp.

The staff understand that there is a sport or activity for everyone and they endeavour to help their young participants to realise their proficiency in various activities and hope that by participating it will lead to lifelong engagement in sport and physical activity.
