A Regular at Sheila Prendiville’s

Paddy was a regular at Sheila Prendiville’s up to the time of its closure in July 2014. There were times when he’d talk for Ireland and there were times he’d lapse into silence.
There were rare occasion on which I heard him unravel complicated family connections with the likes of the late Joe Kearney and David Dauber Prendiville and there wouldn’t be a stone left unturned between them.

On His Terms
Paddy spoke as he lived and it was all on his terms. In a way he was just another splash of colour in the make-up of the clientele of that dearly departed little public house.
An outstanding colour among the splashes – of course. He had a wonderful sense of roguery lurking just behind that oft raised veil of silence. And that was a vital characteristic for the company he kept at No. 22. May God be good to him.
