A very successful open day was held at Castleisland Library on Thursday, October 1st. The open day was advertised in local publications and generated a lot of interests.
New and existing customers availed of the opportunity to learn about all the services available in the Library especially the online services such as The Irish Newspaper Archive, Transparent Languages online, Daily Newspapers etc. The Library is open from Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Mondays and the Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.
Kerry County Council’s Toy & Sensory Resources collection is also housed at Castleisland Library . The collection includes games, learning and sensory resources and is designed to offer support to children with learning difficulties, disabilities or more significant needs.
An illustrated catalogue of the specialised collection of toys and sensory resources has been printed and is available at libraries throughout the county and is also viewable online through the link below.
Items in the catalogue can be borrowed directly from Castleisland Library, requested or renewed online and collected by the borrower at their nearest branch library. Three items can be borrowed at any one time for a 21 day loan period.
