Two students from Castleisland’s St. Joseph’s Presentation Secondary School, Ellen Sheehan and Rachael O’Connor, have been chosen to participate in the nationwide Webwise Youth Advisory Panel.

The Webwise Youth Panel, an initiative of the Department of Education and Skills, is made up of 35 post-primary school students from all over the country. They will discuss a wide variety of issues surrounding web safety.

They will advise the Office for Internet Safety and the Internet Safety Advisory Council about internet safety as it relates to young people.

They will also engage in awareness raising activities. The panel will meet on three occasions during the academic year 2015/16. The first meeting will be this week on Thursday October 15th. It is a great opportunity for young people to have a say on things that matter to them.
