Noeleen’s Beauty Salon is having a party on Saturday 28th. The occasion will celebrate the wonderful and proud occasion of the salon’s 20 years in business.
The title of the iconic Blasket Islands book Fiche Bliain ag Fás – Twenty Years a Growing – could well be borrowed for the celebrated event.
Situated at 63 Main Street Castleisland and above O’Brien’s Lighting Centre, Noeleen Tangney-O’Shea has traded here for the entire twenty years.
“I opened the salon in November 1995 and I can remember thinking that this is brilliant. Business was great with lots of vouchers being bought as Christmas gifts. The beginning of 1996 brought a different picture as the majority of the bookings were the said vouchers being redeemed.,” Noeleen recalled.
Not Common Practice
“It wasn’t common practice to have beauty or skin care treatments and I remember that ladies would come in and say ‘I hope nobody saw me coming in’ as they were nearly embarrassed to be seen to be treating themselves.
“Over the years we have worked hard to retain clients and gain new customers and we continue to be at the top of our game with regular, advanced training along with investing in the best equipment and clinical skincare to achieve visible results, as well as researching new and exciting treatments and products.
“The latest addition to the salon is HD Brows – this is a seven-step eyebrow shaping treatment that focuses on design. It involves a combination of techniques, including tinting, waxing and threading using specialist HD Brows products. There is also a full range of products you can purchase to enhance your brows in between visits.
“We strive to have a warm friendly welcome for everyone and create a relaxed atmosphere where you can get away from the busyness of life even for a short while and we hope our clients leave feeling better about themselves and looking great too.
