I’m wondering if this is a first for politics in Kerry ? Michael Healy Rae’s thinking cap was firmly on the campaign trail in recent months and he’s ‘capped’ it all now with the release of a rousing, electioneering song.
Released simply as: Michael Healy-Rae’s 2016 Election Song – it was composed and sung by Truly Diverse – a local Kerry band.
“The did a great job on it and there might be more to come in the weeks ahead,” said the colourful Kilgarvan man for all reasons and seasons.

Hardest Working
He’s of the hardest working Dáil deputies from one of the hardest working political families in the country.
Betting people are looking at MHR as the man to top the poll in Kerry and get out the gate early and let the rest of them to scramble over the remaining four seats.

This release, which extolls the virtues and the man who gave a truly polished performance on Prime Time last week, is the opening salvo and a ‘start- as-we-mean-to-go-on’ declaration of intent.

More in the Pipeline

He has been canvassing and preparing for this election with the best part of the last twelve months now and the song is just another step on that long road.

‘Rural man for national problems. Saving shops, pubs and post offices’ – a line from the song.
And there’s more in the pipeline if and when the need arises.
