The death has occurred of Patrick ‘Paddy’ Kennelly, Moybella, Lisselton, Co. Kerry. 

Mr. Kennelly died peacefully at his home surrounded by his devoted wife Jennie, his family, friends and dedicated medical and care teams.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Jennie, sons Tom, Chris and Fr. Padraig, daughters Maria and Eileen, sons-in-law John and Tom, daughters-in-law Anna and Debra, grandchildren Cathal, Tadhg, Eoin, Sinead and Aoife, cherished neighbours and wonderful friends. Rest in Peace.

The late Mr. Kennelly’s family developed strong bonds with Castleisland over the years. His son, Fr. Pádraig served as curate here in the early 2000s up to his appointment to Glengarriff in the autumn of 2007.

Mr. Kennelly’s daughter, Eileen was appointed principal of St. Joseph’s Girls’ Secondary School here in the spring of 2012 before her move to a similar position in Listowel in 2014. Also, his son-in-law, Sgt. John Lynch kept law and order here for the best part of a decade ahead of his move to Abbeyfeale in 2009.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Lyons Funeral Home, Derry, Listowel on Saturday evening, 30th July, from 5pm to 8pm, followed by removal at 8pm to St. Teresa’s Church, Ballydonoghue. Requiem Mass will take place on Sunday, 31st July, at 1pm followed by burial in Galey Cemetery.
