Castleisland Golf Club Captain, John Manton’s prize was played for on Sunday on the club course at Tulligubeen. There was a big turn out and after a heavy shower of rain early on the rest of the day was mostly pleasant.
The scoring was very good with the winning score of net 64 by Pat O’Driscoll claiming the captain’s prize.
The course was in great condition despite the recent poor weather. Captain Manton praised the greens staff and both the ladies’ and gent’s committees for all their help in making the day such a success.
Results: Winner, Pat O Driscoll; Cillian O’Connor, 2nd; Willie O’Leary, 3rd; Daniel Mullins, 4th; Dermot Walsh, 5th. and Gross, Stephen Crookes.
Class 1 Jimmy Lane, Class 2 TJ Galvin, Class 3 Brendan Hickey. Visitors prize winner Kevin Foley. Junior prize, Dylan Guirey.
The ladies’ competition result: 1st. Julianne Browne (24) 38 points; 2nd. Kim Mullins (29) 35 points; 3rd. Catherine Walsh (25) 32 points and Best Gross, Lelia Moloney (15) 99 points.
