Knocknagoshel Harvest Festival Ready to Go

The annual Knocknagoshel Harvest Festival ‘kick-off’ time is getting very close and a full programme of events has been compiled. The festival starts tomorrow evening, Thursday August 11th. with Tiny Tots races at 7pm.

This will be followed by Bonny Baby and Glamorous Granny competitions. At 9pm. There’s an Arm Wrestling competition in O’Connor’s Bar. On Friday night all roads lead to Headley’s Bridge to Moynihan’s Bar for All Star Mr and Mrs at 9pm presented by Timmy Moynihan of Radio Kerry.

Fancy Dress Parade

On Saturday there’s a 5k run at 12 noon from the village community centre. A Dog Show at 2pm in Walsh’s Field will keep the show on the road until the Fancy Dress Parade at 6pm from the community centre. A Donkey Derby night will be held at 9pm at Walsh’s Bar.

On Sunday August 14th. an U-8 and U-10 Football Blitz will start at 12 noon at the Willie Walsh Memorial GAA Field.

This will be followed by lots of fun with: Bouncing Castle, Bubble Soccer and a Penalty Shoot-out. On Sunday night at 9pm Female Feirm Factor will be held in Roche’s Bar.

Monday, August 15th is the most sacred day in The Mall and their famous Pattern Day Sports will start at 6pm in the GAA field – God be good to Tom Greaney.

Lots of Entertainment

Tuesday, August 16th is Horse Fair Day in the village. The ‘GAA Chipper’ will be in operation during the festival serving tasty burgers chips and hot dogs.

“There will be lots of entertainment for all the family over the few days in Knocknagoshel. Do come out and support the festival,” said PRO Kieran McAuliffe of The Village Shop – who supplied the information here.
