Desmonds Minors Win North Kerry Division 2 League Title

Desmonds minors were victorious on Monday night when the defeated Tarbert/Moyvane in the North Kerry Div.2 League Final in Ballydonoghue.

They lead from start to finish and it was a great team display by all involved. The score at half time was 2-06 to 0-3 in favour of Desmonds.

Goals from team captain, Tadhg Walsh and Shane O’Connell and great defending by the backs to limit the opposition to only three points.

In the second half, Desmonds tagged on more points to advance their lead even further with David Shanahan scoring two great points from wing back.

Even with the opposition scoring two penalties in the second half, Desmonds held on to their lead to win the game by five points on the score of 2-14 to 3-06.

Scorers: Tadhg Walsh 1-04; Shane Connell, 1-0; David Shanahan, 0-3; Paraic O’Connor, 0-2; Padraig O’Connell, Luka Brosnan, Kieran Breen, Daithi O’Leary and Sean Prendiville 0-1 each.

Tough Trip to Tarbert for Seniors

Desmonds senior mens team travelled to play Tarbert in the North Kerry league semi final in Finuge last Sunday. The result did not go their way with them been defeated on the score of 3-07 to 1-10.

Club Lotto Now Standing at €5,300

There was no winner of Saturday night’s club lotto which stood at €5,200 in Brownes Bar. Numbers drawn were : 17, 20, 22, and 29.

Lucky Dip winners were: Tim Leane, Castleisland, €30; with €20 each going to: Seán Twomey, Killorglin; Dan Reidy, Dualague; Sharon Cronin, Macroom and Peter O’Mahony, ????

The next draw will take place on Saturday, September 3rd. the venue is to be confirmed.
