John O’Connell sent a reminder that the weekly Cordal Resourse Centre 31 Card Drive will resume at Cordal Community Centre on Wednesday nights from October 5th at 9pm sharp.
Meanwhile, the following are the results of the weekly card game held in the River Island Hotel on Sunday night.
First: Danny O’Loughlin and Ritchie Walsh, Mary McGaley and Johnny O’Connell, Mary Barrett and Timmy Brosnan.
Ladies: Maureen Fitzgerald and Kathleen McCarthy, Kathleen O’Connor and Kathleen O’Shea.
Gents: Joe and Paul Geaney, Bill Leahy and Mike O’Sullivan.
Mixed: Siobhan Kelliher and Gene Guerin, Bridget Gray and Noel Murphy. Spots: Seamus McKenna and Eddie Barrett, Mamie O’Sullivan and Tommy Broderick, Dolly McAulliffe and Willie Woulfe. Cards continue every Sunday night at 9pm sharp.
This particular 31 card drive has been driving on since it was established in Skevenas Bar in 1994. After travelling around to a variety of locations in the meantime it has settled nicely in the River Island Hotel. It has raised over €50,000 for local charities to date.
