After the success story of the Enterprise Town Expo 2015 there was huge appetite locally for more of the same. Local businesses responded in a way which had to be seen to be believed or understood.

Castleisland is after an almost unprecedented five days of non-stop cash generating activity.

This began on Friday evening with the opening of the Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival and ended at pub closing time after the annual November 1st Horse Fair on Tuesday.

Gather a Breath

Now, with just about time to gather a breath, comes the Bank of Ireland backed Business & Community Expo at Castleisland Community Centre on Friday night.

No sooner was it announced that it was indeed happening again this year than the allotted stand spaces were all snapped up.

A night of activity, from the official opening by at 5.15pm by guest speaker, Miriam O’Callaghan to the closing ceremony at 8.45pm., will be packed with entertainment and populated by local businesspeople and their wares.

Lár an Aonaigh

The wonderful seanfhocail comes to mind: ‘Mura mbeadh agat ach gabhair bí i lár an aonaigh leis.’ Even if you have only a goat to sell be in the middle of the fair with it.

Friday night’s Expo is providing the people of the locality with the opportunity to bí i lár an aonaigh.
