Faoi 16 Review

Our U16’s began the year with the Castleisland District League where they were victorious over Currow in the Plate final.  The next competition was Division 3 of the Central Region where they reached the final against Ardfert where they went in as under dogs.  After an exciting hours football it was the Ballymac boys who were celebrating after putting in a superb performance to lift the trophy.

In the Co. League we reached the semi final where we took on Na Gaeil.  On the night the Tralee side proved too strong for our lads.  The final competition of the year saw us Division 3 of the Coiste Tra Li league with a victory over John Mitchels.  Overall a successful year for our U16 team with victories in Castleisland, Central and Tralee competitions.  Great credit is due to players for their dedication throughout the year while thanks is also due to team mentors Stephen O Brien, Bridget Leen, Derek O Brien and Padraig Laide.

Overall the underage section of the Clubs had a very successful year.  Many thanks to all players, mentors, parents and supporters who made 2016 such a great year for the Club.  A special mention must be made of Chairmen John Rice (Boys), Donal Rahilly (Girls) and Secretaries Dave Slattery (Boys) and Anthony Curran (Girls) for the work they put in during the year.  Roll on 2017.
