St. Joseph’s Presentation Secondary School has just issued an invitation to parents/guardians and family members and anyone interested in attending a choral recital with a difference on the coming Monday, January 16th 2017 at 3pm.

The students involved in the choir are availing of the opportunity of a choir day experience with Veronica McCarron and the recital will be the result of that.

“Ms. McCarron is well known for her recent success with the Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny. They reached the semi finals of the Britain’s Got Talent programme and were one of only 40 acts from a field of 20,000 to make it to that stage,” Principal Katerina Broderick explained.

Passion and Enthusiasm

“Born in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, Veronica has been teaching for 43 years during which time she has taught in: Scotland; Australia; the United States and now in Ireland.

“Her passion and enthusiasm for music captures the imagination of the students and, year after year, her choirs have achieved the highest honours in some of the most prestigious competitions.

“In 2007 she was presented with the Kilkenny ‘Person of the Year’ award for her work with young people in the field of music.

Afternoon Performance

“Her greatest accolade is the love and appreciation of music she has nurtured in countless pupils and they will carry it with them for the rest of their lives.

“Veronica will work with all of our choir in the lead up to the recital on January 17th and we invite parents/guardians and family members to the afternoon performance at 3pm in our school hall.

If you are interested in attending please contact the school office 066 71 41178,” Ms. Broderick concluded.
