Garvey’s SuperValu Saturday Walk and Talk Programme

Garvey’s SuperValu is initiating a six-week long Castleisland Walk and Talk programme in which people are being invited to participate.

Getting out and about, meeting people, talking and making friends is what the event is about. The programme will get under way on this Saturday morning at Garvey’s SuperValu from 11am. to 12noon and there will be warm up by R&R fitness.

Refreshments for Participants

“There will also be free refreshments for participants and also over the next few weeks we will have nutritionists / cooking demos/ health and well-being experts in-store after the walk and will have celebrity walk leaders as well,” said organiser, John Paul Curtin.

High Intensity

Tuesday nights are weigh-in and high intensity class times between 8pm and 9pm. All participants can avail of a free Hi Intensity Class and weigh in every Tuesday evening between 8pm and 9pm at R&R Fitness.
Claire Scanlon from Limerick who was a leader on Operation Transformation last year will be joining the walk on Saturday, January 21st. as walk leader.

Glanageenty Walk
On Saturday, February 25th the participants will undertake a guided walk of Glanageenty led by former world Hill running champion, John Lenihan by way of celebrating people’s involvement in the programme.

The main aim of the programme is to promote positive mental health while getting out and about in a group activity.
