The Development of Castleisland Camera Club

A group of keen, self described, amateur photographers from Castleisland, Cordal, Currow and Ballymacelligott got together last week on Thursday night in the River Island Hotel and formed a new club.

Officers Elected

The club is to be known as Castleisland Camera Club. Officers elected on the night are as follows: Chairman, Pat Hartnett; Secetary, Ann Bergin; Public Relation Officer, Breda Mc Galey; Treasurers, Anette O’Donoghue and Mary O’Donoghue.

Executive committee: David Browne, Breda Pembroke, John Lenihan and John Spillane.

Hugely Varied Interests

“All present at the meeting had hugely varied interests and it was felt that all working together would be the best way to go,” said elected chairman, Pat Hartnett.

“Much was discussed on the objectives of such a club. While its early days yet, great enthusiasm came from all present. At the next meeting a plan will be put in place on the way forward,” said Mr. Hartnett.

That next meeting will be in the River island Hotel on Thursday, April 6th at 8.15pm All new members will be welcome to attend.
