The Kerry Citizens’ Information Mobile Unit will be located in the car park of Garvey’s SuperValu tomorrow, Thursday, March 30th. from 10am to 1pm.

It will then move on to Rathmore Community Centre for its 2.30pm- 4pm appointment there.

Easy Access to Information

“Kerry Citizens’ Information Service aims to reach communities in the county to ensure that all citizens have easy access to high quality information, advice and advocacy,” said facility manager, Frances Clifford.

“The mobile and outreach service is purely for the convenience of those who would find it difficult to visit our other Kerry centres located in Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Killorglin, Kenmare, Caherciveen and Dingle Outreach.

Rights and Entitlements

“Our objective is to ensure that all citizens are fully aware of their rights and entitlements. Our service is free, impartial and confidential,” said Ms. Clifford.

Citizens Information provides information on a wide range of issues including: employment rights; housing; social welfare; family matters; pensions; migrant rights; health services; education; disability and much more.

The people you meet at an established centre or on the mobile unit can also help complete forms; write letters; make telephone calls and calculate entitlements.

Wide Range of Topics

They also regularly visit community groups around the county to give information talks on a wide range of topics.

In 2016 they dealt with over 19,000 callers and over 28,000 queries in Kerry.

Citizens Information is a free and confidential service and is funded and supported by the Citizens Information Board.
